Catching up with TV Shows

Let’s catch up on some of the science fiction(ish) TV shows I’ve been watching this season. I’ve mentioned three before, but we can talk about a couple others as well. It appears that some new science fiction shows will be coming up in the next season, so we’ll have replacements for the ones I’ve stopped watching.

Checking in after 3 epidsodes of Spartacus and Caprica

Now that I’ve had a change to see 3 episodes of both Spartacus: Blood and Sand and Caprica, I thought I’d give an update on how the shows are. My initial review of Spartacus was less than complementary, while I gave a tentative thumbs up to Caprica. Have my opinions changed after a few more episodes.

Spartacus: Blood and Sand review (Spoilers inside)

“I am Spartacus” is the memorable scene from the 1960 Stanley Kubrick film. Spartacus is a Roman slave turned gladiator who escapes and leads a slave rebellion across Southern Italy for 2+ years. After the success of 300, based off the Frank Miller book of the same name, the interest in historical movies (especially ones that can show a lot of skin and violence) has increased. HBO had Rome, Clash of the Titansis being remade and Spartacus: Blood and Sand is the new Starz series.
