Locus announced the winner of the 2012 William L. Crawford Fantasy Award which “is designated for an exceptionally promising writer whose first fantasy book was published the preceding year”. The winner is Genevieve Valentine for her novel Mechanique: A Tale of the Circus Tresaulti. I haven’t read the book, it does sound interesting.
